Inequality in Canada is not as prominent as many other places around the world, although it does remain in certain segments of Canada. There are many forms of inequality in Canada and internationally, although this papers main focus is going to be the inequality of wealth. According to Steven Kerstetter â€Å"Canadians may view their country as a land of opportunity, but it is also a land of deep and abiding inequality in the distribution of personal wealth† (Kerstetter 2002). The â€Å"gaps between the rich and poor remain evident in Canadian statistics† (Kerstetter 2002), Canadians have always kept financial security as an essential element of life and have tried to obtain and sustain it within their lives. Most Canadians make financial security a primary element of life. It is said that â€Å"poor people are least able to withstand any kind of financial crisis because they have so few assets and often have outstanding debts. People in the middle may be squeezed because so much of their wealth is tied up in housing. Only people with above-average wealth enjoy true financial security because they have sizable financial assets in addition to housing and other non-financial assets† (Kerstetter 2002). The segregation in the public causes inequality and degradation among the two classes in Canada and internationally. This shows that the poorer people in society are put more at a disadvant age and that society is set up to take more money from the poor and less money from the rich. With the power over life and death granted the medical profession it would leave some populations at risk and devalues the life of every person. In a healthcare system that is profit driven between HMOrs and insurance companies, it must be examined who will fall victim to the legalization of assisted suicide. With each person that takes this route someoners rights are taken away, feelings of others are disregarded, and it cant be determined that this is what the person actually wants, to die. Medical technology has come a long way from what used to be. Options are available to prolong and improve quality of life for terminally ill, mentally ill, and the disabled that should be utilized. Rather than push for a law that has no true regulations and leaves so many at risk it should be more of a priority to educate the public of other care options. Many assisted suicide advocates often use the word selfless to describe this act. Suicide is not selfless, being selfless can be reflected by pitching in and helping take care of someone who may need it, standing up for someone who may be discriminated agai nst and arent able to speak up themself, and thinking of the feelings of others before following through with this. The role of society is to protect the rightrs of each other and respect one another. If this law spreads across the country then the thought of ever having a compassionate society will absolutely diminish and human life as we know it will be worth nothing.

Misleading and deceptive conduct false representation: Section 18 and 29 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010- Schedule 2, deals with misleading and deceptive conduct or false representation. These sections of ACL prohibit the business from engaging in any such conduct which[2]: Mislead or deceive any other person. As per the provisions of section 18 and 29, business must not conduct any such practice which is misleading. In this case, TPG conduct two advertisement campaigns which include initial advertisement and revised advertisement after receiving 87B undertaking from ACCC related to the initial advertisement. These advertisement campaigns are conducted from the 25 September 2010 to 29 November 2011. Numbers of media streams are involved by this advertisement such as television, radio, etc , for the purpose of promoting new scheme of TPG related to internet services. As per this scheme TPG offer unlimited internet services for $ 29.99 only and this scheme was named as ADSL2+ broadband internet plan. In reality, company charged hidden cost from their consumers which include $30 per month for bundling and 149.99 as setup fee. Information related to these costs was not stated in the advertisement and only single price that was $29.99 was reflected in the advertisement. In this case, ASIC filed application against the TPG for engaging in misleading and deceptive conduct through advertisement in the Federal Court and ASIC succeeded in their application. Later, TPG file successful appeal against the decision of Federal Court in Full Federal Court. Decision of the full Federal court was set aside by the High Court on the basis that Full finance Court fails to apply correct principles in this case. High court stated that advertisement is misleading and deceptive because it provides false representation to the consumers. Therefore, Court held that conduct of TPG was misleading and deceptive under section 18 and 29 of the ACL[5]. Conclusion: Section 18 and 29 of the ACL deals with the misleading and deceptive conduct related to the advertisement, and provisions of these sections prohibit the conduct of business which result in mislead and deceptive conduct.
